Dear Pottery Friends,
Summer planning is fun to do during these chilly winter months (they finally are cooler!), so I'm thinking of some inspiring activities for this summer. Having the art pottery camp in the mornings or afternoons this year still leaves lots of time for enjoying lazy mornings or afternoons by the pool, reading, or relaxing with family and friends. I hope you will join one or more of our fun pottery camps this summer.
As usual at The Good Earth, the emphasis will be on making it possible for the children to relax from the daily demands of the school year and to grow artistically and personally. Summer camp times allow for more involved projects and a greater continuity of community for everyone. At Good Earth Pottery & Garden we have eight wheels, three work tables, as well as an easy access slab roller for boxes, dishes, animal habitats, and other types of hand-building and sculpture. We offer six different clays to work with, fifteen beautiful dipping glaze colors, and high-fire as well as low-fire options. It is always amazing to see what the children can bring to life from their own piece of humble clay.
All our classes are founded on personal initiative and imagination. We offer your child the chance to develop the human capacity to imagine, work hard, and create cultural artifacts just like the Ancients did . Your child will gain confidence while strengthening dexterity skills by spinning on the wheel, altering, turning out pieces on the slab roller, pinching and/or coiling flights of fancy, hand-sculpting, or all of the above. Whether they keep their creations, sell them at a house party, or give them as gifts, (birthdays, graduations, weddings, "you are special", charity fund-raising, Valentine's Day, etc.), they are sure to bring wonder, thoughtfulness and beauty into the world for many, many years to come.
Students are focused designing and crafting the pieces during the first weeks, while the second weeks are filled with plenty of special attention on the finish work of adding details, decorating, and glazing. The art students practice personal initiative skills and learn to manage their time and energies toward developing strong friendships and works of art.
unlock your imagination.................create your own treasures....!

Usually 5-8 campers will be attending pottery camp. Special allowance may be made for advanced continuing students. Enroll now to guarantee your child a fun time during the long summer days. I try to be thoroughly kind and supportive to each individual in the studio, and expect the same from all the students. The community at Good Earth Pottery and Garden has created a supportive environment in this country setting where students can let their burdens down, relax, and grow in creating beauty and friendships.
Registration and Deposit
Registration and deposit are required for all camps. Enrollment will be on a first-come, first-served basis, with priority given to returning students. After that we fill from the waiting list. At least 1/2 the pottery camp tuition must be received at the time of registration before April 4th. The balance is due before June 4th. Smaller monthly payments are also an option due to the current state of the economy. Some refund one week prior to the first class may be possible in cases of severe illness or family emergency and must be agreed upon in writing. We try to do our best as a family business to serve you and your child and in return we appreciate your goodwill, thoughtfulness, and support!
Registration is only through David or Suzanne Gould. Registration is assured only when the accompanying Registration Form, Liability Waiver, and deposit are received. If your child is returning this summer, we kindly ask you to fill the forms out again since some details may have changed.
While we take every precaution for the safety of each camper, we do require all campers to sign an honor statement of good intentions, and all parents to sign a liability waiver as a condition of registration. We also reserve the right to return the camper to you if he/she is unable/unwilling to behave in a kind, safe, and reasonable manner. This is done to promote safety and fun for all campers!
